Nate Cira - Principal InvestigatorNate completed undergraduate majors in biomedical engineering, biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011. He received his masters in 2013 and his PhD in 2017 from Stanford University where he was a member of the Quake lab. He has worked on projects involving microbiology, microfluidic devices, community ecology, capillarity and wetting, and network theory. He was an Evans Scholar, NSF GRFP Recipient, and a Siebel Scholar. He started the Cira lab as a Rowland Fellow at the Rowland Institute in late 2017.

Samira Shiri - PostdocSamira joined the lab in July 2019 and works on leveraging the interaction of liquids and surfaces for developing high throughput liquid handling devices and understanding thermal Marangoni-driven droplet stabilization. Samira completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University in the group of James Bird in 2019.
Mohsin Qazi - PostdocMohsin joined the lab in February 2020, and works on refining and using high throughput liquid handling devices. He completed his PhD at the WZI Institute of Physics at the University of Amsterdam in 2019.
Nkazi Nchinda - Undergraduate researcherNkazi is a Harvard undergraduate majoring in biomedical engineering. He is developing methods and using them to search for microbes belonging to undiscovered taxa.
Adarsh Singh - Undergraduate researcherAdarsh is an undergraduate at IIT Kharagpur majoring in biotechnology and biochemical engineering. He is involved with analysis of novel microbial genomes.
